HAYDOCK DESTINY RIDES: MURPHY STILL TWO AHEAD IN TITLE RACE: It’s 151-149 Oisin Murphy over William Buick with 13 rides between them on a day of destiny at Haydock today, going into British Champions Day tomorrow at Ascot. Daqman checks out every race at Haydock.

DON’T MISS DAQMAN’S RACE-BY-RACE GUIDE AT ASCOT TOMORROW: Daqman starts with his analysis of tomorrow’s Champions Mile. His final preview, which is on the Champion Stakes, will be part of tomorrow’s race-by-race guide to the meeting.

GROUND IS DRYING FOR BAAEED

⭕ 3.10 Ascot, tomorrow (British Champions Mile) Three-year-olds lead 6-4 in the decade, with Aidan O’Brien – the only one to win with a mare or filly (Minding in 2016) – now running the filly Mother Earth.

Runners older than five (Benbatl, Lord Glitters and last year’s winner, The Revenant) have never won this Mile or at least not since my records began in 1970, so I’m leaving them out of this form preview in ABC order of what remains:

Alcohol Free (3, Andrew Balding filly, Oisin Murphy) Won the Fred Darling, Coronation Stakes and Sussex Stakes, beating 2,000 Guineas winner, Poetic Flare. Two lengths behind Mother Earth in the 1,000 Guineas. Best form on soft, heavy.

Baaeed (3, William Haggas, Jim Crowley) Unbeaten in five starts, progressing to his sole Group 1 on the last day, the Prix Du Moulin at the Longchamp Arc trials meeting. Not raced on soft or heavy.

Lady Bowthorpe (5, William Jarvis mare, Kieron Shoemark) Improved 9lb this season, though now five, winning the Nassau Stakes (1m 2f) and earlier second to Palace Pier in the Lockinge. Likes a soundish surface.

Master Of The Seas (3, Charlie Appleby, William Buick) Won the Craven Stakes and beaten a short-head in the 2,000 Guineas; not seen again until third to Benbatl the last day. Hood left off now.

Mother Earth (3, Aidan O’Brien filly, Ryan Moore) Won the 1,000 Guineas on firm ground and a Deauville Group 1 in August on soft. In between, third to Alcohol Free in the Coronation Stakes.

Njord (5, Jessica Harrington, Tom Marquand) Won the handicap on this card last year and twice placed in Group-2 events this season. Best form on soft.

Palace Pier (4, John and Thady Gosden, Frankie Dettori) Has won eight races out of nine, his only defeat as favourite in this race last year: third to The Revenant after losing a fore shoe.

This year has won consecutively, Sandown Mile, Lockinge (beat Lady Bowthorpe), Queen Anne and Jacques Le Marois. Successful on terrain from good to firm to heavy.

Also engaged: Benbatl, Lord Glitters, The Revenant

BUICK-MURPHY ONE ALL TONIGHT

⚠️ HEADS UP William Buick, who goes into the last two days of the jockeys’ title race two down on Oisin Murphy, gives himself an edge by taking rides in all eight races at Haydock this afternoon. Oisin Murphy, leading 151 to 149, doesn’t get going until the 2.20 race and has five rides all told.

⭕ 1.15 Haydock Blinkers helped Suanni get off the mark the last day under David Probert on firm ground. William Buick, who was placed on the grey on debut, takes over on going with plenty of cut in it and with the highest weight in the race.

⭕ 1.45 Haydock Tom Dascombe, who has had 25 two-year-old winners this year, including the quality Kodi Bear colt, Ever Given, has William Buick aboard Chester runner-up Noteable here against penalised Kempton winner Sky Blue Pink.

Kevin Ryan (29 juvenile winners) saw his debutante favourite, Mother Shipton, hampered out of it at the start here just over a month back on firm, and she could redeem the losses, same track, different ground.

⭕ 2.20 Haydock Every winner of this has been an outsider between 10-1 and 18-1, and you certainly need a price to get involved in this big-field sprint.

I was counting my cash on Thaler, clear at Kempton, but he didn’t last the 7f. Now back to six and has to be a saver to that outsider you’re looking at.

If the ground dries out, it might be Beyond Equal (first-time blinkers) for Oisin Murphy, but the softish surface currently suits Chairmanoftheboard (William Buick), placed the last twice in a higher grade.

⭕ 2.55 Haydock No sign of Murphy and a solid mount for Buick: Charlie Appleby has had 12 winners in October and Mythical Dancer could be another.

The third horse home on his debut win has scored since, and he gave weight to the first two on firm at Leicestet; the runner-up, Al Baahy, was plaid Chelmsford last night. Appleby has a strike rate of 34% from 32 two-year-old winners on turf this year.

⭕ 3.30 Haydock The GFrankel colt Magisterial is favourite to land this novice juvenile for Oisin Murphy over Kaasirr (William Buick), debuting for the Crisfords, who have a 50% (2-4) strike rate with two-yer-old sin the last week, including the Oh So Sharp Group 3 with Fast Attack.

⭕ 4.05 Haydock Tail-flasher Twisted Reality (Oisin Murphy) and up-in-grade Poet’s Lady (William Buick) may find Imrahor ready now, after two good runs in higher class since being gelded.

⭕ 4.40 Haydock Beaten favourite twice, Dukedom (William Buick) drops back to 7f, at which point he seemed to be holding a big field at Newmarket; down in trip is the obvious way to go.

Superior Force (Oisin Murphy) tries a change of trip, too: going up a furlong after fair efforts in sprints.

⭕ 5.10 Haydock If Buick (Socially Shady) has had the advantage so far, he will probably lose it here to Murphy on Whitehaven: a terrific 4-5 shot him up 34lb at this time last year and he seemed to have got a grip again the last twice, second each time, beaten overall less than a length.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
