DAQMAN LANDS THE GOLD CUP WINNER: Daqman named the Gold Cup winner in one yesterday (Kyprios WON 13-8) but his usual Rolls Royce tipping has evaded him this week. Our man says: ‘At least my steering isn’t as bad as Paul Hanagan’s or my gear change as slow as Frankie Dettori’s!’

WON 13-8 KYPRIOS (Ascot Gold Cup)

* Lays Logic opposed Montassib (4th 7-2) and Key Stats warned against outright favourites in the Norfolk Stakes (2nd 7-4) and Britannia Handicap (17th at 4-1).

GOOD FORTUNE RELIES ON TOP RIDERS: It’s Fortune Cookies day today, with three runners. Just one has run at the meeting so far, Corobeus (won 10-11). First two jockey bookings are Christophe Soumillon and Ryan Moore but we also need Dettori to make up for yesterday, riding Inspiral, which means ‘a star spiraling inwards and losing energy’. Where’s your booster rocket, Frankie?

MEDITATE O’BRIEN’S FAVOURITE

🎩 2.30 Royal Ascot (Albany Stakes, 6f) STATS: See Daqman last Friday.

KEY STAT: Stalls, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 have won in nine of the last 11 seasons.

Queen Olly (14) beat nothing well at York but is a No Nay Never out of a Galileo mare; that’s a telling mix of sprinting blood with stamina.

Cathy Come Home (15) is with Karl Burke and Danny Tudhope, who won with Queen Mary with Dramatised.

Another No Nay Never, Meditate (4) will have to go wide of the main bunch but is known to be a favourite of Aidan O’Brien’s at home and has ‘done nothing wrong’ so far (2-2).

Betdaq Betting Exchange value: 5.6 Meditate, 19 Cathy Come Home, 9.8 Queen Olly.

JET THREAT TO PERFECT POWER

🎩 3.05 Royal Ascot (Commonwealth Cup, 6f) STATS: See Daqman last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIE: Perfect Power

Christophe Soumillon and Perfect Power have been a formidable partnership, and the jockey has himself powered to 140 winners this year.

They landed a hat-trick in the Morny, Middle Park and Greenham, straddling the winter break.

His sixth to Coroebus in the 2,000 Guineas was improved upon by the Greenham runner-up, Lusail, when he ran Coroebus to a head in the St James’s Palace Stakes on Wednesday.

Perfect Power is in the one stall but could get a lifeline lead from Go Bears Go (from 4). In the spearhead down middle, Twilight Jet (11), little more than a length behind Perfect Power in the Middle Park, traveled like an improved horse at Naas (firmish), turning over a Ballydoyle hot-pot.

The Sandy Lane winner El Caballo has it all to do from stall 20, and where he is both Flaming Rib (12) and Tiber Flow (13) should be.

The American contender, Slipstream (18) could be staying on under Joel Rosario. In the Breeders Cup Juvenile, he was three lengths off the subsequent French 2,000 guineas winner, Modern Games.

BETDAQ value 5.1 Perfect Power, 10 Twilight Jet, 26 Slipstream.

RYAN CAN JUST ABOUT WIN IT

🎩 3.40 Royal Ascot (Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes, 1m 4f) STATS: Daqman last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIE: Just Fine.

KEY STAT: A double-figure stall has won every year for 13 seasons from 19, 11, 21, 12, 10, 12, 21, 19, 19, 14, 12, 12 and 19 since Sugar Ray made all out of the 6 gate in 2008.

But all is not lost for Just Fine, Sir Michael Stoute, Ryan Moore and Fortune Cookies followers, not to mention the owner, Her Majesty the Queen.

It was Stoutie who trained Sugar Ray, and Moore who rode him. And the Stoute-Moore combo also scored back-to-back in 2012-13 with Opinion and Arab Spring from stalls 10 and 12, respectively.

Candleford (18) beat Ascot Stakes winner Coltrane when they met in November, and has waited for this (goes well fresh).

Trawlerman is the hidden horse (Classic trialist last year and back to form the last day) but a distinctly moody Frankie Dettori failed to land the big fish yesterday.

BETDAQ value 7.3 Just Fine, 8.8 Candleford, 6 Trawlerman

DISCOVERIES BETDAQ VALUE

🎩 4.20 Royal Ascot (Coronation Stakes, 1m) STATS: Daqman last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIE: Inspiral

This is about whether Inspiral can return from her setback 252 days after completing the May Hill and Fillies Mile double and becoming winter favourite for the 1,000 Guineas.

She has to prove herself all over again against Cachet, whom she’d beaten in the Fillies Mile, but in her absence won the 1,000 and was probably unlucky to go down a head to Mangoustine in the French equivalent (softish surface).

Mangoustine’s sire, Dark Angel, won the Middle Park on firm ground, and there’s literally just 5lb covering the seven top fillies here.

The benchmark Prosperous Voyage confirms the head-to-head in that she was second twice to Inspiral last year and to Cachet this, but Cachet has had three tough races this season.

The top 2yo fillies Discoveries and Tenebrism (didn’t seem to stay) were both behind Cachet in the Newmarket Guineas.

I favour Discoveries to improve on that; her sister, Alpha Centauri, took this Coronation Stakes for Jessica Harrington, whose stable won yesterday’s Ribblesdale.

BETDAQ value 4.1 Inspiral, 10.5 Discoveries, 9.3 Mangoustine.

MORE VALUE: 23.0 INVIGILATE

🎩 5.00 Royal Ascot (Sandringham Stakes, 1m) Charlie Fellowes won this in 2019 and 2020 with low-drawn horses, both at 33-1.

Today his stall-5 player, Fresh Hope, and the unbeaten Heredia, drawn 21 on the other side for Richard Hannon, have been the only ones backed.

Persist has a nice weight mark and is improving. So, too, Invigilate, sister to a Breeders Cup mile winner; she could turn around Nottingham form with Washraa.

Crenelle is yet another chance today for Dettori to return to form but she drifted this morning from 8-1 (12.0 on BETDAQ).

BETDAQ value 8.5 Fresh Hope, 6.3 Heredia, 23 Invigilate

HE’LL GET GUARD OF HONOUR

🎩 5.35 Royal Ascot (King Edward V11 Stakes, 1m 4f) STATS: Daqman last Friday.

Aidan O’Brien has had two winners at Ascot this week, both with big futures: Kyprios the new Gold Cup star and Little Big Bear, who landed a gamble on the first day.

I think Changingoftheguard deserves to be on the list: he cut out a lot of the work when fifth in the Derby after winning the Chester Vase. BETDAQ 2.81

AT LAST LIKEAROCK EACH-WAY

🎩 6.10 Royal Ascot (Palace Of Holyrood Stakes, 5f) STATS: Daqman last Friday.

Loves Me Likearock has twice been just run out of it over 6f at Newmarket but has plenty of speed.

A good run by Sacred Bridge in the Commonwealth Cup (3.05) could give us confidence in Ladies Church, who ran her close at Cork. Well backed last night.

Wesley Ward and Irad Ortiz are having a modest time of it this week and Ruthin – 7th in the Windsor Castle last year – has to give weight all round.

The Queen’s Spring Is Sprung (David Egan) is a half-brother to her Wokingham third, King’s Lynn.

BETDAQ value: 7.3 Ladies Church, 14.0 Loves Me Likearock (13 in the e.w. market), 41.0 Spring Is Sprung,

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.

Did you know? DAQMAN’s tips are posted each and every day so he’s always on hand to help with your horse racing betting.
