KEMPTON PASSES AN INSPECTION: Bangor is off today following the loss of Doncaster yesterday. Kempton passed a morning inspection but the going is heavy. Newbury is likely to survive tomorrow but ‘the ground will only get worse;’ Uttoxeter and Warwick have both been abandoned.

6.9 BETDAQ OFFERS ABOUT THE NAP: Daqman checks out the ante-post prices for another race at the Cheltenham Festival before previewing today’s action at Kempton and Wolverhampton, where Daqman’s nap was 6.9 on BETDAQ this morning.

NO RULES: JUST THE NOBLE HORSE

Daqman is challenging Pricewise ante-post bets for Cheltenham as they are published, with the exception of the Ryanair which is too much in the air (!) at this stage.

⭕ 3.30 (March 14) Stayers Hurdle, Cheltenham (3m hurdle) Tipping a Grand National winner in this seems crazy to some but backing him to win the Cleeve Hurdle was in that league. I couldn’t do it.

When Irish trainers run their top horses on the Flat, in bumpers, in chases, in hurdles, whatever is available and takes their fancy as the right thing to do at the time, English eyebrows are raised in the manner of ‘I say, chaps, what’s this fellow doing?’

But, after Noble Yeats battled with many-times-champion Paisley Park, and won the Cleeve, I finally accepted the Emmet Mullins mindset, described by the trainer himself as: ‘There’s no rules in this game.’

Mullins immediately nominated the Stayers as Noble Yeats stepping-stone to the Grand National, in which he’s finished winner and fourth.

His Aintree performances, and his Cleeve success, were achieved on good to soft ground, though he has won on soft and heavy.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 11.0 Noble Yeats in the Sportsbook market.

AQWAAM GETS THE TRIP WELL

⭕ 1.32 Wolverhampton, today: Artisan Dancer gets 7lb and more from the rest of the field and needs it, if he is to get his head in front at long last after a run of 222232 on this course.

He’s just gone up to his highest ever mark for scoring at Newcastle just five days ago, so he’s no good thing even to continue his place-only sequence here.

Aqwaam has to give 4lb at most to the three others and gets this trip well. He was behind Artisan Dancer over CD a few runs back but was hampered at the start and then failed to get a clear run two out. Billy Loughnane takes over today for the first time. BETDAQ 2.62.

Captain Kane is useful and consistent but has been absent 153 days. Melakez and True Courage have both won in class 3 which offers hope rather than encouragement in the context of the rest of their form.

MUCUNA MAY LIKE THE MUD..

⭕ 1.40 Kempton Georgi Girl has been hit for a 10lb rise for winning at the military meeting at Sandown; those results are not always what they seem, and Parikama’s claiming-hurdle success at Leicester came when the leader gave her the race.

Mucuna was well behind when Amelia’s Dance was runner-up at Newbury, Amelia’s third second in four outings.

Mucuna has won only on good ground but sire and dam didn’t mind the soft and passed on to progeny all-round going ability.

She was ring-rusty (for a new stable) in that first run back at Newbury and needed her outing at Southwell since. BETDAQ 11.0

⭕ 3.10 Kempton Wot You Wearing could be another for 5lb–claiming Freddie Gingell, three wins from seven, still standing, and earning for us with a fine ride on Afadil in the Scottish County Hurdle.

Wot You Wearing (BETDAQ 5.4) won twice on soft-heavy in the autumn and gets 21lb from the hurdles maiden Katate Dori. Hurricane Danny could improve.

HILL CAN CLIMB THE HANDICAP

⭕ 4.07 Wolverhampton Master Of Combat is 112010 at Wolver since October, but is on his highest mark in consequence. Only Wadacre Gomez, carrying a penalty for scoring eight days ago, is higher in the handicap.

Arcadian Nights’ sequence was set up in class 5, in which Eagle Day has had back–to-back success.

Warren Hill has the advantages of a top-class trainer in Roger Varian, a 3lb claim, a decent draw, and a run back full of promise after the break. BETDAQ 6.9.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
