3.05 Ayr There’s only a nose between Gowanharry and Lexington Place if they repeat their second and third in a big field here on the last day.
But Pearl Blue, who was only about a length behind them, gets her ground and the extra furlong she needs today.
Stablemate Rural Celebration has encountered soft going only twice and won both races, so we can probably discount her two efforts this season on top of the ground.
At 8.0 Pearl Blue and 11.5 Rural Celebration there’s plenty of room in the BETDAQ market to dutch them.
4.40 Ayr Soft ground is normally a worry for a top weight, but Homage is one of few in the race who will enjoy the easy surface and one of few who have already won in this class 2.
William Haggas, who has had 12 out of his last 18 starters in the frame, takes Homage on a solo journey from Newmarket in search of the cut in the ground.
7.50 Windsor Ghalib returns from a break as a winner when fresh and as the only three-year-old in this sprint, try ng to follow in the hoofprints of second-season animals who finished first and second in it last season.
Ghalib was sent out too soon on a hat-trick mission after back-to-back success in the Spring. He can wipe that blip off his CV with a convincing performance here before attempting a better class of race.
