11.0 MONKSLAND MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE: The BETDAQ ante-post offers for the World Hurdle added up to an underround 93% when checked out by Daqman. Says our man: ‘You could back every horse in the race and win money. Not many will ever want to do that. But it does mean you had fabulous value for money whichever one you picked.’ He chose Monksland at 11.0.

4-1 LANDSCAPE KEEPS DAQMAN IN THE BLACK: Daqman’s single bets finished ahead thanks to Landscape (WON 4-1) at Taunton yesterday but his Daq Multiples let him down. He tries to recoup with a treble today.

Just how open is the World Hurdle without Big Buck’s? So open that you could back all the offers ante-post on BETDAQ and still make a profit.

The total probability percentage in the orange was 93% when I checked it out. That’s underround. That’s 7% in the punters’ favour. That’s magic: the magic of BETDAQ betting.

Monksland was being offered at 11.0, though only 6-1 with Corals. Quevega at 11.5 was more than treble the value of the 3-1 fixed odds available from Ladbrokes and Boylesport. The 12.0 Oscar Whisky compared with 5-1 Blue Square, Hills and Power. Need I go on.

In fact, there is value to be found in all the ante-post markets available on BETDAQ, but beware of discrepancies that actually reveal a horse’s poor chance.

Example: We have just seen that Oscar Whisky is very short for the World Hurdle with some bookmakers. Well, Ladbrokes have him only 8-1 for the Champion Hurdle, alongside 19.5 offers on BETDAQ.

I would suggest that this is a case of too good to be true. He seems more likely to go for the open competition of the World Hurdle after his storming 19-lengths Relkeel Hurdle win (2m 5f).

It’s certainly seems too good to be true to see 19.0 about Flemenstar for the Gold Cup after his demise in that sensational finish to the Lexus Chase.

Wouldn’t you now feel a sucker if you held Boylesport vouchers at 8-1? Or even if you’d taken the 10-1 still ‘freely’ (don’t I mean ‘expensively’) available with most bookmakers.

But, going back to that World Hurdle, we’ve surely got to grab some 11.0 Monksland after his victory over the 3m in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown

His stamina won him the day, and he reversed Hattons Grace placings with Zaidpour, who had beaten him over the shorter trip. Get on!

Today’s biggest prize is at Punchestown (1.30), where Solwhit, a winner three times on reappearance runs, but always in the shadow of Hurricane Fly in the big races, returns after nearly two years off

He was second on no fewer than four occasions to Hurricane Fly but loves Punchestown, with form figures there of 11121, three in a row on heavy, with the second place recorded on good ground.

Solwhit ran off 165 in two of his last three starts and today’s company is 17lb lower, headed by Staying Article on 148, but with his winning form all over 2m.

But Staying Article has had only a seven-start career so may be said to be unexposed at this trip. Similarly, Bog Warrior (off 143) has had just 10 races under Rules, Fully Funded (142) only 13.

Yet all of them will be a year older, at least eight years old, tomorrow with the exception of Simenon, who is a bit of an enigma.

Royal Ascot level on the Flat and a Graded novice over hurdles but seemingly hit a brick wall over today’s CD six weeks ago, making a series of errors.

Willie Mullins is convinced that things weren’t right with him that day, and it tells a story that he returns over the same course over the same trip on the same kind of ground.

Yet, instead of the 3-1 on that day, you can get 6.0 against on BETDAQ this morning. I will give him this second chance.
