GOOD LORD! HE’S 40 POINTS UP: Daqman, who goes into today’s value clash with Pricewise 34-8 in the lead, made a 20-point profit for the second day in succession yesterday. He followed up winners at 4-1 and 11-4 with a 5-1 hit, Lord Fingal, and an 11-10 banker. The 40 points in two days came from:

4-1 THURSDAY

WON 4-1 Jacob Black
WON 11-4 Consort

5-1 FRIDAY

WON 5-1 Lord Fingal
WON 11-10 Leaderene (banker)

FIVE BANKERS OUT OF SIX: Leaderene gave Daqman his fifth winning banker from the last six, as follows (gold bankers 30 points staked, diamond 40):

WON 8-13 Telescope (gold banker)
WON 8-13 Soapy Aitken
WON 4-5 Yorkidding
WON 2-5 Gleneagles (diamond banker)
2ND 1-1 Giovanni Canaletto (beaten neck)
WON 11-10 Leaderene

26.0 ROCKET ASTROPHYSICS A TOP TRADE AT YORK

1.45 York Blaine and Foxtrot Romero have shown their best form over shorter and this fast, swinging, speciality 7f could find them out.

Recent CD winner Dusky Queen has never raced off a mark as high as today’s. Alejandro won over CD twice last summer but from stalls 5 and 6, whereas he’s drawn wide in 14 today, requiring different tactics.

One of Alejandro’s victims was Alfred Hutchinson, who is worse off here but better drawn in stall 2.

Interesting that David Nolan, who won on Alejandro that day, and who has also won on Rene Mathis, switches to well-drawn Al Khan, who has come good this year but is raised in class.

Wee Jean was third in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot last season. Down 9lb this year but has a poor strike rate.

One Word More ran in the Jersey Stakes there in 2013 and has been on the upgrade (forget his Chester run) since moving to local trainer Tim Easterby.

Louis The Pious won the Buckingham Palace Stakes and the Ayr Gold Cup but needs to come down a few pounds.

On the other hand, Highland Colori, back to form at Goodwood a month ago, is now racing off his lowest mark for two years, including Kieran Shoemark’s claim.

I thought the 13.0 One Word More looked tasty on BETDAQ early mouse. I also took 11.0 Highland Colori in a 103% list of offers in the BETDAQ orange

2.20 York Unless rain arrives, I can’t fancy Clever Cookie, while Big Orange and Angel Gabrial need to bounce back.

Wakea has improved steadily with every race but Nabatean (6.6 in a 103% BETDAQ orange) looked a horse with a future when scoring at Chelmsford.

2.55 York Rely on the young sprinters to step up here. It went to seven five-year-olds in a row until 2013, then the four-year-old Top Boy put them back in front last season.

It was Kingsgate Choice, returning today off a similar mark, who broke the sequence in 2013 but hasn’t shown that sort of form since.

Normal Equilibrium is 9lb higher than when fourth last year. Ancient Cross, Bogart, Duke Of Firenze, Lexi’s Hero, Monsieur Joe and Noble Storm have all been well bea en in the race before.

It’s a pinstickers’ contest and I’ll take a couple of punts down the Knavesmnire with Fairway To Heaven, who has dropped to a dangerous mark, and is with a shrewd yard; plus the three-year-old Flying Childers runner-up Astrophysics, whose trainer has had three wins from the stable’s last five starters.

I took 19.0 Fairy To Heaven and 26.0 the front-runner Astrophysics (looks a likely trade) in a 108% list of offers in the BETDAQ orange this morning.

LIMATO LOOKS A BANKER IN THE SANDY LANE

2.00 Haydock (Pinnacle Stakes) Roger Varian’s form in this in the three seasons 2011-13 was 113 but is on record as saying he thinks 1m 2f is Talmada’s trip

Group-2 runner-up over three furlongs shorter, keen-going Kleo will also have to be switched off if she is to score.

I fancy Queen of Ice (5.7 offers on BETDAQ as I write) can outrun them. She made all at York and Newmarket over this trip last autumn, improving 12lb on her summer form. Good bet to trade later.

2.35 Haydock (John Of Gaunt Stakes) Breton Rock ran second in this last year and looks lined up for the race for the same rider, 4lb higher after running in the Lockinge.

He’s a soft-ground specialist and if he can’t get this one in before the summer sunshine (I’m always the optimist), he may have to wait until the autumn.

Slow times were returned last night and Breton Rock’s chance depends on how the course dries out today. He was favourite this morning. But stacked up behind him were Cable Bay and Aljamaheer. All three ran in the Lockinge, with the miler Captain Cat in the rear.

Roger Varian also finds Aljamaheer a hard horse to know; he won a mile with him at Ascot in 2013 but then dropped him back to sprint trips, before he ran Ansgar to half a length over today’s trip at the Doncaster St Leger meeting.

The 2013 Dewhurst winner Cable Bay ran best of the trio in the Lockinge but is unreliable. If Dusky Queen wins earlier at York, she will boost That Is The Spirit, who beat her over today’s CD on the soft three weeks back.

I took 5.3 Breton Rock and 8.4 Aljamaaheer in a 106% list of offers in the BETDAQ orange.

2.45 Newmarket Small fields (only half a dozen left as I write) mean a tactical race and John Gosden’s record in this since 2007 is 1232114.

I punted Snoano at 9.2 on BETDAQ because he thinks firmish ground will suit but had to have a saver on Peacock, Fielden runner-up to Dante winner Golden Horn.

3.45 Haydock (Sandy Lane Stakes) Limato has already beaten these, with Adaay franking the form at Newbury, and looks a Royal Ascot winner in the making. Banker.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 30 points, except the banker)
