DAQMAN’S 44 POINTS CLEAR OF PRICEWISE: Daqman is 8-1 up on Pricewise of the Racing Post with the gap between them a huge 44 points (Daqman +24.50, Pricewise –19.75) to a single unit on each selection at SP. Look out at Kelso and Kempton as battle renews for the last time before the Grand National meeting.

JUST ONE RESULT OF SCANNING THE FORM! Daqman analyses the best six races today. Of one of the runners in the Kelso marathon chase, telephone tipped this morning, he says: ‘I would want to see two brain scans before I backed him: his and mine’.

SEVEN-DAY GRAND NATIONAL COUNTDOWN: Look out tomorrow with seven days to go as Daqman continues his countdown to Aintree and next Saturday’s National.

BRIDGE LOOKS BETDAQ VALUE

2.05 Kempton Nicely drawn again, but A Momentofmadness is 9lb higher than when successful in this race last year, picking up a pound here and there for his consistency without actually winning since.

He should reverse Lingfield form with Tomily on today’s better terms but, usually blindfold for stalls entry, and slowly away at times, he can’t be relied on to do the job.

The 6.8 on BETDAQ Jumira Bridge was tempting this morning. He won first time back last season and is best drawn of Robert Cowell’s trio of runners. That’s disregarding Green Door who is a soft-ground horse.

2.25 Kelso The runner-up to 4.3 offer Taxmeifyoucan in his only start here at Kelso in February has won a Grade-3 at Sandown since.

Despite an official rise of 11lb, Reverant Cust didn’t improve a pound on Joke Dancer to whom he was second twice, four races apart, in January-February.

Mirsaale is 2-2 at Kelso but his stable is currently 0-23, and he was easy to back at 11.0 in the BETDAQ orange this morning. Likes soft but not heavy.

Sue Smith (Treshnish) is also badly out of form. Her last five finishers have been beaten a total of 145 lengths

LUCK BE A (RAVENS) LADY..

2.40 Kempton The handicapper put up Mazzini 10lb for winning at Chelmsford in July and he’s failed since in five attempts off the 100 mark.

Tropics is 13lb higher than when fourth here at the backend of last year, due to three wins from five starts, showing a liking for the easier surfaces of Chelmsford and Wolverhampton.

Boundsy has been ultra consistent (2212113) but seems almost certain to be heading for the Chester May meeting and needed his run back last season.

Marco Botti wins at this meeting (including a Snowdrop Fillies Stakes hat-trick) and his Ravens Lady (6.3 this morning) could be the answer, 5lb lower than on turf and with Kempton form of 2131.

Got within a length of Queen Kindly in a big-field Listed, a filly who has taken on the likes of Roly Poly, Winter and Harry Angel.

3.00 Kelso Yala Enki won the Grand National trial at Haydock (from Blaklion) and took this Kelso race last year off a 6lb lower mark.

That makes him 12lb for seven lengths worse off with the runner-up Seldom Inn, whose Kelso form is 1211223.

Baywing was only fourth last year but took a huge leap forward in February by winning the Eider Chase, with the extra distance allowing more jumping fluency.

He looked quite stylish, in fact, and 6.4 on BETDAQ this morning was good value with the Nicky Richards stable having had a good season and currently showing form figures of 1431.

Chic Name ran well in the Cheltenham Cross-country behind leading Grand National hopes, Tiger Roll and The Last Samuri. Lake View Lad is bred for 2m and barely gets three.

Wild West Wind is a telephone tipster’s choice today, hence shortish odds for one whose last three ‘runs’ have produced FRU letters instead of finishing positions.

He won the Welsh National Trial and was going great guns in the Grand National Trial that Yala Enki won but suddenly threw in the towel and refused.

As a result, there wasn’t a penny on him for the Kim Muir, in which he unseated rider. I would want to see two brain scans before I backed him: his and mine.

HUNAINA IS FRENCH MUSTARD

3.15 Kempton (Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes) Sir Michael Stoute has started the season with form figures of 222 and, on the face of it, will need a huge effort for the six-year-old Smart Call coming out of gate 10.

The low six stalls have won six of the last seven, all bar one going to four-year-olds.

Although Smart Call is a Group filly, she is dropped down in trip for her AW debut, has never won after a break and is in a race gifted to four-year-olds (eight wins in nine years).

The question is: which four-year-old? And the answer may be Hunaina (5.4 offers), a Dundalk winner for Mick Halford who has impressed for her new French yard in two starts this year. The French rampaged through our AW Championships at Lingfield.

3.35 Kelso Donna’s Diamond won the Rendlesham, beating the Cleeve Hurdle winner, so was entitled to go to Cheltenham, but it wasn’t a going day as the grey’s 66-1 SP reveals.

Lastbutnotleast and Takingrisks reverts to the smaller obstacles from successful chasing campaigns, with ‘Risks’ the one with the smart hurdles form in the past.

Western Rules has never aimed this high before. His recent success was in class 4, when he scrambled home a short-head from a 12-year-old.

Eminent Poet beat nothing well at Wetherby and the horse he outran at Haydock was 39 lengths off Donna’s Diamond next time out.

Kris Spin has won only when dropped to class 3, and Landecker also needs to raise his game, despite his hurdles-form consistency at Kelso: 1011203323210.

Arthurs Secret has been second or third eight times in 12 starts without winning. Letemgo has had a new lease of life this year but a total rise of 22lb may stop him, despite his low weight.

I took 5.1 Donna’s Diamond and 7.6 Takingrisks in the BETDAQ orange this morning.
