4-1 NAP FROM THE MASTER TIPSTER: Daqman is truly gifted as a tipster, no more apparent than when he napped Gifted Master (WON 4-1) on the Cesarewitch card at Newmarket yesterday, after completing six bankers in row on the opening day on Friday.

23.0 CESAREWITCH GAMBLE FOXED: Gifted Master was among three consecutive winners, five winning bets on the day for 75 points profit. But Daqman would have swapped them all to get the photo-finish verdict in the Cesarewitch. His 23.0 BETDAQ bet, Oriental Fox, was judged to have been beaten a short-head after a huge gamble down to 7-1 SP.

DAQMAN SLAMS PRICEWISE 5-0: Gifted Master and the place part of his 100-pointer on Oriental Fox put him further ahead of Pricewise, his weekend 5-0 superiority taking him into a 97-15 lead before the Munster National and Irish Cesarewitch today. Saturday’s wins:

WON 100-30 Arthenus
WON 4-1 Gifted Master (nap)
WON 4-6 Air Force Blue (doubled with Gifted Master)
2ND 7-1 Oriental Fox (23.0 on BETDAQ win and place to win 100 points)

‘MUNSTER’ CONDITIONS ARE PERFECT FOR PROMISE

3.45 Limerick (Ladbrokes Munster National) As well as rising 6lb higher than his winning mark in this last year, Shanpallas faces a 7lb better field.

The last two winners, who scored high in the handicap off 138 and 139, would only be carrying 11st and 11st 1lb today, with horses rated 142 to 145 filling the top six spots.

Such is the quality that, as well as Shanpallas, The Paparazi Kid, Opening Batsman, Indevan and Art Of Logistics have all won Graded races, and The Job Is Right has been placed in one at Cheltenham.

One of the keys to today’s race could be the musical saddles on horses trained by Mouse Morris and Willie Mullins.

Ruby Walsh rode The Paparrazi Kid fourth that day but now prefers the short-head runner-up Urano of the Willie Mullins pair.

Bryan Cooper rode Ravished behind winning Mouse Morris stablemate Rogue Angel in the Kerry National but now switches.

However, Midlands National winner Ravished could bounce back on the drying surface and, taking the Galway Blazers form on yielding ground, Rogue Angel is badly in with Perfect Promise and Urano.

The ground also helps Sadler’s Risk, and there’s not an ounce between him and Shanpallas on their third and fifth in the Galway Plate, when The Paparrazi Kid was second. That was only Sadler’s Risk’s third chase and he could improve a couple of pounds here.

VERDICT: The worry about whether Urano would stay was alleviated by his narrow defeat in the Kerry National and he’s now better off with Rogue Angel on that form and on his third to the same horse at Galway.

No wonder Ruby Walsh switches but Urano has gone up a total of 10lb this year for these good runs without winning, and the staying good-ground mare, Perfect Promise, can beat him at the weights on the form of the Galway race.

Sadler’s Risk and Ravished will like the drying ground. Shanpallas could also improve, as he’s only seven and has had this race as his target again since winning it last year.

BEST IN THE WORLD APPROPRIATE O’BRIEN BANKER

2.55 The Curragh Have you ever seen Aidan O’Brien so excited as he was after the Dewhurst? Or any other trainer at any other time for that matter.

Air Force Blue looked more like a three-year-old in his controlled and majestic action at Newmarket, and is the nearest thing to Nijinsky I’ve seen on a racecourse.

Air Force Blue is a grandson of Nijinsky’s sire, Northern Dancer, but the resemblance doesn’t end at the sheer aristocratic arrogance of this colt, a totally laid back athlete.

The story of thoroughbred racing since his day IS the story of Northern Dancer, and Air Force Blue could bring Ballydoyle full circle to the great days of Nijinsky and another trainer O’Brien, the invincible Vincent.

The naming of the fillies Ballydoyle and Coolmore and – in this Listed race – Best In The World looked ironic after stablemate Minding sauntered clear in the Fillies’ Mile on Friday.

Yet Minding could only last out half a gallop with Air Force Blue or, at least, I think that’s what Aidan said as the words came tumbling out, punctuated by that assertive ‘Listen’ (there were three or four of those) as he tried to express the ace superiority of his colt.

Best In The World! It will feel like that if this sister to Found can land the banker here today. But that epithet is surely destined for Air Force Blue.

They do have one thing in common. Like Air Force Blue yesterday, Best In The World is showing at slightly better than even money in the BETDAQ orange this morning at 2.06.

WHITEOUT BIG CESAREWITCH VALUE ON BETDAQ

4.05 The Curragh (Irish Cesarewitch) Some 16 out of 18 winners have been aged five and under, yet Western Boy (he’s 6), Silver Concorde (7) and Ted Veale (8) are among the front eight in the market.

The Ulster Cesarewitch dead-heater over two furlongs further, Whiteout, is an improving filly, who must surely be value at 13.5 on BETDAQ, nicely placed in this handicap.

Sr Cartage is another on the upgrade but would probably have needed some rain to be seen at her best.

Sir Mark Prescott had three of his four Newmarket Cesarewitch hopes no nearer than 20 out of 34 yesterday.

But Sea Pride, yet another improving four-year-old filly on this card today, went down narrowly to Ted Veale over shorter at Listowel earlier this month.

PERCEUS LIKES GOODWOOD ON TODAY’S GOING

4.15 Goodwood Amanda Perrett is out of form in general and on her local track at Goodwood in particular with a losing run of 32 there. So I’ll be laying Cameraman, who is probably being plotted up for a handicap next season.

4.45 Goodwood Perceus (9.8 on BETDAQ as I right) is big in the orange offers, considering he loved this course on similar ground when a seven-lengths winner in August.

Not disgraced either side of that race on firm ground, even when raised to class 2 at Yarmouth. Couldn’t get out for a run that day, which is a good lesson for jockey Michael Murphy to learn before returning to Goodwood.
