LOSING-FAVOURITE LOVE WAS DAQMAN’S WINNER OF THE DAY: The best of Daqman’s 50-point bull’s-eye bets was a fast-finishing place yesterday (Cliffs of Capri 4th 20-1 from 27.0 on BETDAQ) and his King George 1-2-3 turned out 2-1-3 with winner and second the wrong way round (Mishriff 2nd 10.0 on BETDAQ, Adayar first). Consolation came in laying Love, the beaten favourite; that’s 11-15 for Lays Logic.

SUNDAY SERVICE: Daqman pays tribute to King George winner Adayar today, opposes a hot favourite at Pontefract and also has a NAP on the same card.

THIS FRANKEL COULD BE A GALILEO

He’s an old-fashioned boy. And Adayar’s trainer is, too. The colt has grown into his target races as he’s grown into his immense frame, a prince until he’d earned his crown but always sovereign elect.

Adayar is among the elite because he does the job with style, not because trumped-up pundits shower him with idiot epithets. He’s a punter’s horse in a punter’s stable.

With such a horse you know the stepping-stones along the way, and you can rely on actual performance instead of having to guess and, worst of all, being unaware whether the trainer is also guessing what might bloom because he has a garden full of them.

Charlie Appleby has been growing, too, and Godolphin deserve the accolades for their support and confidence in his ability.

This combination has produced a potential Galileo in Adayar but, oh Mr Tabor, he’s a Frankel. He’s the first Derby winner to follow up in the King George since his grandfather, Galileo. And he got away!

BETDAQ Arc value 5.0 Adayar

BRUNCH HAS REALITY FOR BREAKFAST

⭕ 4.10 Pontefract In 12 starts, the old man of the party, Regal Reality, has won only when wearing first-time blinkers, so his form’s not so hot.. even if his price is hot.

Brunch has struggled with a 13lb rise since winning at York but this is a Listed not a handicap, and the two stakes races he’s run so far were on the soft ground he hates (and Rhoscolyn prefers).

Azano has a moderate strike-rate (2-17) and he, too, has won only with cut in the ground.

BETDAQ value 3.1 Brunch

CALL THE KHAB

⭕ 5.10 Pontefract Khabib runs under the statutory 6lb penalty for his easy win at Beverley six days ago and the fact that Sedgefield trainer Ray Craggs (3 winners from last six runners) has him out again so quickly suggests he can strike again whilst the iron is hot and more importantly before he gets re-handicapped.

This certainly doesn’t look any tougher than the Beverley assignment and Khabib can continue his good run of form which has included a close second at Ayr,.

STARS HAVE ALIGNED

⭕ 5.45 Musselburgh This looks a lot easier contest with the defection of the Godolphin runner Deep Snow and it might now leave the door open for Rising Star.

The Marco Botti trained filly ran her best race yet when a three quarter length runner-up to Spirit Of Bermuda on the July Course at Newmarket in a class 2 handicap and it goes without saying that a reproduction of that form in this class 4 should be more than good enough.

She’s up a furlong but that shouldn’t pose a problem given she was staying on nicely at the end of the Newmarket race.

Going the other way in distance is Myristica who has been running with credit over further but just struggling to see out the longer trip. She looks the danger.

MISSILE TO FIRE US INTO THE RED

⭕ 6.40 Musselburgh I must be dreaming – the 6.40pm race live on a Sunday on terrestrial TV ! All part of an initiative to push Sunday racing more – I hope it works and more importantly hope it can reduce some of the pressure on Saturday’s crowded schedules too when people realise, hey Sunday is part of the weekend too!

The starting point in this stayers contest has to be Euro Implosion who bids for a fast four-timer for trainer Keith Dalgleish and is versatile ground wise.

His wins here at Musselburgh and Hamilton (twice) have come over slightly shorter trips and he’s up another 3lb and is in much deeper water here.

I thought at a big price Red Missile was interesting for Lucinda Russell. She was a course and distance winner last time out and given it was a narrow win in a four runner contest the 2lb penalty doesn’t look harsh.

The trainer has also entered him up for Ayr on Monday so must be keen to run him and he is much better value on the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE than the two other course and distance winners in the race.

They are Wise Eagle (continuing to climb the handicap) and Let Me Be who is in prolific form this season but, if anything, may now find this trip on the sharp side.

BETDAQ value 16.5 Red Missile

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
