IT’S FUN FUN FUN: Daqman landed a nap with Fun Fun Fun (WON 4/7) to secure a profit on the day. It was also a winner for Team Mullins who closed the gap to just £24,562 over Dan Skelton.

ALL OVER BAR THE SHOUTING: Despite the deficit,Mullins is long odds on to retain his title. The skirmishes continue at Perth today but Sandown’s closing season card on Saturday will be pivotal.

21 RUNNERS FOR MULLINS: Morning declarations are through and Mullins is sending 21 runners to the Esher track including Gaelic Warrior and Engergumene. Dan Skelton relies on nine entries on the day.

A HISTORY LESSON

⭕ 3.59 Perth Big chances for both Mullins and Skelton on today’s Perth card with their combined runners monopolising the Betdaq Betting Exchange markets.

Best chance for a home win on the coupon looks to lie with Skelton’s HIDDEN HISTORY in this handicap hurdle (£7,922 to the winner).

He is only lightly raced and just had to be pushed out to win well at Uttoxeter last time out.

He’s up 7lb for that effort but the form has taken a significant subsequent boost with the runner-up Wellington Arch coming out to win a class 1 handicap hurdle at Aintree – it doesn’t get much better than that in form line terms!

Florida Dreams attracted some early morning support but mysteriously has been RAISED a pound for a six length thumping at Ayr last time out in a race where he was sent off favourite.

A bigger danger may come from Lucinda Russell’s Bold Light who doesn’t have many miles on the clock and, as strange as it might sound for an eight-year-old, could remain progressive.

FREDDY’S QUITE RAPID

⭕ 4.55 Beverley (Rapid Lad Handicap) named after the profile 12 time course winner, it’s highly unlikely that any of these six entries will get close to scaling those dizzy heights.

I thought the bet might be Freddy Robinson who is the only previous course and distance winner.

There was plenty to like about his latest effort when fourth here over 1m 4f and the decision to drop in back in trip looks overdue and a positive. I don’t think his flat speed has been blunted by his spell over hurdles.

ST GEORGE UNFURLED

⭕ 6.55 Chelmsford Flag Of St George is running a day late but can pounce here for Billy Loughnane and Jane Chapple-Hyam.

He is dropped in both class and distance after finishing fourth in what looked a much better race here last month won by Kitaro Kich who followed up with an even better effort when runner-up in a class 3 Kempton handicap.

It looks better form than that offered by Southwell beaten favourite Secret Strength.
