BANKER WIN SETS UP EXETER DOUBLE: Daqman got off to an early flying start at Exeter yesterday with Yanworth (WON 4-11) emerging from the fog to win well for Barry Geraghty in the JP McManus silks. He followed up that win with the well touted Monbeg Gold (WON 3-1) later in the day.

NOW THAT’S TWO IN A ROW: Yanworth’s win at Exeter followed on from Monday’s winning Nap, Brother Tedd, to give our man two winning Naps in succession.

FINAL FLING NAP ON THE LEVEL: As we enter the final few days of the Turf Flat season, Daqman looks at Nottingham’s opener for today’s Nap with another selection later in the card alongside the best of the Jumps action at Chepstow and Warwick.

SWING CAN BE KING IN OPENING RACE

12.20 Nottingham Nursery races are generally very tricky. I try to stay away more often than not but can’t resist the first race at Nottingham. It’s a small field with condensed weights so it’s more appealing than most other races of a similar nature.

King of Swing tops the weights following a win in a Haydock Maiden last time. Although I’m never too keen on on a big priced winner like this following up, the form of that Maiden has worked out well and his mark of 75 could be very lenient. The 6th that day has won since and is now rated 82.

Illegally Blonde is likely to be the main danger but she will need to show substantial improvement to trouble the jolly.

1.55 Nottingham This is a nice race despite the small field. I see two of these fighting it out, You’re Fired and Storm Rock.

You’re Fired will like the ground and comes off the back of a win in the mud at York last time out. Some of those behind that day have won well since and although off a career high mark of 102, he may still be fairly treated.

Storm Rock may be even better treated though. Also off 102, he won well in a similar event at Leicester last time, easily beating Pintura. I think he can do the same today and should make another bold bid.

SYKES CAN FOLLOW UP AT CHEPSTOW

2.15 Chepstow This race should be approached with some caution. I’m making a small stake selection for it in Blanfords Gunner. There are lots of questions to be answered by some and at the prices, he’s the best value.

Imagine The Chat is favourite but he looks quite slow and I can’t see two miles being suitable.

3.20 Chepstow This is a much better race. There are plenty to choose from but it’s hard to see Sykes being beaten.

He won a Conditional Jockey’s race last week and, as a result, gets no penalty. Champion elect (already!) Richard Johnson takes over again and should make his presence felt in a huge way off a very lenient handicap mark.

In the Place market, Dashaway is likely to improve hugely for the step up in trip. He won well at Chepstow two runs back before almost following up at the same track under a big penalty. Although he got another 5lbs for that second, he could remain well treated. Hard to see him beating Sykes at the weights, but hard to see him out of the places either.

FREE OF CHARGE CAN MAKE AMENDS AT WARWICK

1.35 Warwick Just one selection for Warwick.

Free of Charge was unlucky in his Chase debut. He fell four out when in contention. He may not have won that day but he would have been very close and, with a clear round today, he can get home in front this time.
