INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES: We preview Thursday’s International Friendlies between REPUBLIC OF IRELAND v NORTHERN IRELAND and ENGLAND v USA with recommended BETDAQ bets.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND V NORTHERN IRELAND
7.45pm It’s hard to know what to make of this friendly. The UEFA Nations League has meant that we will see less “glamour friendlies” because sides are meeting a lot more now; although this is hardly a glamour tie! Both sides will obviously want a good result here for bragging rights but both are playing poor football at the moment. The Republic of Ireland have been woeful so far this year and Northern Ireland have lost three from three in the UEFA Nations League. We aren’t expecting an entertaining game here if this year is anything to go by.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Republic Of Ireland 2.18, Northern Ireland 4.3 and the draw is 3.15. While this game might be hyped in Ireland, the stats say it will be a very dull affair. Northern Ireland have managed four goals in their last six games while the Republic only have four in their last seven. You have to considering 0-0 in the Correct Score market here however we can’t get away from the Republic Of Ireland lay at 2.18 – that price looks desperately short considering the football that they have been playing this season and we have to lay it.

ENGLAND V USA
8pm This is called an International Friendly, however it is really a Wayne Rooney Testimonial. It’s hard to know what to make of this game and we’ll hardly learn too much about England tonight heading into their game against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. England were absolutely excellent against Spain recently in the UEFA Nations League however this game will lack that intensity – but it should be an interesting game to watch nevertheless.
England are heavy favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; England 1.34, USA 12.0 and the draw is 5.6. USA come into this game with only one win from their last six games, and that included a 2-1 loss against a poor Republic Of Ireland side. They have had to play sides like France, Brazil and Mexico so perhaps the stats don’t do them justice however they should still be outclassed by this England side. With a lot of hype around Rooney and a bigger game in a few days, we can see a quiet game here – under 2.5 goals is 2.12 which looks good value considering it’s hard to see USA scoring.
