PREVIEW

Chelsea and Fulham get the Boxing Day fixtures off to a cracking start at Stamford Bridge and Blues fans will be hoping their side can get the better of the Cottagers within 90 minutes for the first time in two meetings.

Fulham supporters making the short trip to the Bridge on Boxing Day will have taken some encouragement from the performance in the Carling Cup back in September. That day Fulham more than held their own and were unfortunate to be dumped out the competition on penalties.

The past two matches between Chelsea and the Cottagers have not produced a goal and the visitors would certainly settle for a point here. Michael Essien’s winner in the 1-0 result in Chelsea has been the only goal in three West London derbies.

Given the proximity of the two clubs, it’s not a surprise that the referees have been kept busy in the recent clashes. There have been two red cards issued in the three most recent games between the clubs.

Chelsea have won their past two home games, including a 2-1 win against the league leaders and they look in good shape for another here. Andre Villas-Boas’ side have scored five times in those matches, so my advice would be to back Chelsea in the HT/FT double result at around 1.94 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Chelsea HT/FT double result at around 1.94: 4 points

Thursday’s Return: -4.00
