Birmingham are having a woeful season so far and languish in 19th in the Championship, 14 points behind their third placed rivals tonight, Middlesbrough. Lee Clark’s side have won just one of their last six matches, losing three.
Boro’s hot run of form stalled with successive defeats to Cardiff and Bristol City before a comprehensive 3-0 win over Huddersfield on Tuesday night. With victory tonight at St Andrews, the Teesside club could go level on points with leaders Cardiff.
Just one of the last 27 encounters between these two sides has been won by the away side. Two of the last three meetings have ended 3-0 to the Midlands outfit.
