Diego Simeone has so far made an impressive start as manager of Atletico Madrid and he’ll be looking for another three points this evening when he takes his side to Osasuna.
Atletico have already secured seven points from three games under the new management, including two decent victories over Real Sociedad and Villarreal. In those two games, Atletico scored seven times without a goal in reply.
The two wins lifted the Rojiblancos up into tenth place and now a point behind Osasuna in ninth. The Rojiblancos won a 3-2 thriller on their last visit, but the side will be without the hero that day as Diego Costa has moved on.
In contrast to Atletico, Osasuna have found the going tough since the turn of the year and they lost ground on the clubs above. The hosts come into this contest without a win in six matches across all competitions. To compound Jose Luis Mendilibar’s frustrations, the last three of those matches have been at home.
The reverse fixture in August ended in a goalless draw and I fancy a similar result this evening given Osasuna’s struggles at home. I’d recommend backing the sides to be level at the final whistle at around 3.45 on BETDAQ.
