PREVIEW

The third and final automatic League Two play-off spot is up for grabs this evening as Shrewsbury welcome Crawley Town to New Meadow. Both clubs have games in hand over Southend United, so they hold the advantage as we approach the business end of the campaign.

Shrewsbury have been excellent at home all season and after 14 league games they remain unbeaten. During that run Graham Turner’s side have won 11 times and they’ll fancy their chances of getting revenge for the league defeat at Crawley earlier in the season.

Much of Shrewsbury’s good work has been built around a solid back four that has conceded the fewest goals in League Two. The Shrews have managed to keep eight clean sheets at home already, but they will face a stern test against the high-scoring visitors.

However, two key parts of Crawley’s threat going forward have since moved on as Matt Tubbs and Tyrone Barnett left the club during the transfer window. The strikers had 26 goals between them and since their departure the Red Devils have drawn four of their past six league games.

With the fixture at New Meadow, it’s hard to see past Shrewsbury picking up the win and moving into third place. Crawley just haven’t looked the same side since their two best players departed and I’m happy to tip the home win at 2.74 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Shrewsbury at around 2.74: 4 points
Sunday’s Return: -4.00 points
