PREVIEW

Martin O’Neill has made a wonderful start to life on Wearside and it looks as if the decision to bring the Northern Irishman in has been a stroke of genius. Sunderland are already up into tenth and have a European place in their sites, but they’ll face a difficult game at Stamford Bridge.

The Black Cats comfortably reached the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Peterborough last weekend, which was their second clean sheet in three outings. Defensively the Black Cats have improved significantly under O’Neill and only two goals have been conceded in four matches on the bounce.

Andre Villas-Boas has not had an easy start to life in West London and he has already found himself eleven points adrift from the league leaders. It’s been home results that have let the Blues down of late, with only two wins coming from six home league contests.

Sunderland will come into this clash full of confidence and although they’ve struggled at home against Chelsea, the Black Cats pulled off a massive win on their most recent visit to Stamford Bridge. There’s an uneasiness around Chelsea at the moment and Sunderland have the game to frustrate the hosts to come away with a valuable point.

A draw can be backed at around 4.9 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back the draw at around 4.9: 4 points
