PREVIEW
Aston Villa’s tricky run of fixtures continue as they host free scoring Arsenal in the league this Saturday.
The Gunners have scored 17 goals in their last six matches and will be confident of finding the net against a side who have conceded eight in two games. Arsene Wenger’s team smashed five past north London rivals Tottenham last weekend and with their strikers Olivier Giroud (four goals in four games) and Lukas Podolski (three in three) in scintillating form, more goals at Villa Park are expected.
Villa come into the game off the back of a 5-0 thumping by Premier League champions Manchester City. The score line could be considered harsh on Paul Lambert’s side, who were playing fairly well until a controversial penalty took the score to 2-0 and put the game out of sight for the Midlands club.
The hosts have the ability to trouble Arsenal as they showed when taking a 2-0 lead against Manchester United last week before eventually losing 3-2. However, it is tough to imagine them being able to cope with the creativity and flair of Santi Cazorla and Mikle Arteta. A comfortable win should be within reach for the visitors.
