PREVIEW

Mehmet Topal’s winner for Valencia on Thursday evening leaves Stoke’s European dreams hanging by a thread, but they are still going strong in the FA Cup. Stoke reached the final at Wembley last year and narrowly lost out to an expensively assembled Manchester City side.

The host’s quest for the title took a hit on Tuesday evening as Paulo Di Canio’s Swindon ran out 3-0 winners to draw level on points. It’s not all doom and gloom though as the Reds tend to raise their game in the cup and are yet to concede in this year’s tournament with victories against Bury, Redbridge, Bristol City and Hull.

Tony Pulis’ Stoke are on course for a second final appearance in as many years. The Potters have hit a bad run of form of late and that has seen them slip to 13th in the Premier League. Thursday’s defeat was Stoke’s fourth loss on the spin and they’ve really struggled in front of goal. In those four defeats, Stoke have found the back of the net just once.

Crawley will no doubt fancy their chances of another upset, but they will not have had to cope with Stoke’s aerial attack before. At the other end, Crawley are missing Matt Tubbs and without their star man they look likely to struggle. My advice would be to back the away win at around 2.11 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Stoke at around 2.11: 6 points
Saturday’s Return: +7.72 points
