PREVIEW

Unless Arsenal can turnaround a 4-0 deficit against AC Milan next week they will finish a seventh successive season without a trophy. Realistically fourth is the best the Gunners can hope for and they are just about clinging on to the final Champions League place amidst a poor campaign.

Arsene Wenger has had a tough seven days with the Milan result and then being dumped out of the FA Cup at the Stadium of Light, but a win here would be a huge shot in the arm for the club. Robin Van Persie was starved of service at the San Siro and that cannot happen here if the Gunners are to get three points. The Dutchman scored a hat-trick in his last game at the Emirates and he needs a big performance.

Tottenham were not at their usual flowing best against Stevenage last weekend, but Harry Redknapp did opt to rest some of his regular starting XI. Spurs were last in league action against Newcastle and they tore Alan Pardew’s side apart in a dominant 5-0 win. Louis Saha and Emmanuel Adebayor stared in the game with three of the goals and looked as if they had been playing together for years. The pair will be licking their lips at the opportunity of getting at a fragile Arsenal back four that has been their Achilles heel all year.

There’s no love lost between the clubs and with Arsenal really feeling the pressure, expect there to be a few challenges flying about. Emmanuel Eboue was the last player to be sent off in a North London derby and if there’s a red at the Emirates, BETDAQ are offering commission back on all markets.

Spurs have all the momentum coming into the game and will be able to play with their expansive style. The Gunners’ defending at times has been comical and I expect Spurs to have too much for them.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Tottenham Hotspur at around 2.9: 4 points

Saturday’s Return: +3.90 points
