PREVIEW

The opening match of the Women’s World Cup kicks-off today with hosts Germany playing Canada. Having won the past two World Cups, it’s clear to see why the Germans are once again strong favourites for the tournament and as short as 1.12 on the ‘Daq’ to open up with a victory.

Backed by home support, it’s going to be tough for anyone to stop the powerhouse of Women’s football. Canada certainly are facing an uphill challenge to even to progress from the ‘group of death’, which also contains France and Nigeria.

The head-to-head record between the two nations won’t offer too much encouragement to those looking to back an unlikely win at 24.0 on Betdaq. Germany have won all eight of the matches against Canada, the last being an entertaining 4-3 win seven years ago.

A German win is too short to back, but with the talent they have in the side I can see this being won by a healthy margin. Backing Germany on the -2.5 Asian handicap looks the best way to go here at around 1.81.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Germany on the -2.5 Asian handicap at around 1.81: 3 points

Saturday’s Return: +0.28 points
