Today’s action takes us back to League One where Shrewsbury will be trying to escape a dreadful run that has seen them fail to win any of their last five games in any competition. The Shrews take on a Walsall side coming to New Meadow on the back of a heartbreaking defeat to Port Vale on penalties in midweek to exit the League Trophy, after the Saddlers had let a two-goal lead slip.
Shrewbury are seven places below Walsall in the table and have failed to beat them in nine games, although that run stretches back over ten years. The visitors on Sunday have won six of those encounters and it’s hard to see the hosts causing that many problems, with their attack looking rather redundant at the moment.
Perhaps surprisingly, considering Walsall’s strong run of form previously to defeat last weekend versus Carlisle and on Tuesday, Dean Smith’s men are the underdogs at 2.55 on BETDAQ. Shrewsbury look too short at 2.23, having won just two of seven home games this term and they look worth opposing.
