PREVIEW
It’s ninth versus fourth at Tynecastle Stadium tonight as Hearts take on Hibernian in the Edinburgh derby. Neither side has been particularly convincing this season and both managers will fancy taking the three points.
However, Hibernian will be looking to improve woeful run that has seen them win none and lose seven of the last 11 Scottish Premier League Edinburgh derbies. They have also failed to score in their last three trips to the west part of the Scottish capital.
Hearts have won four and lost just one of their last six home league matches and a win tonight will push them up level on points with Kilmarnock, with a game in hand.
Ryan McGowan will miss out for the hosts after the club accepted an offer for the defender from Shandong Luneng Taishan of China. Manager John McGlynn has not named a replacement and may struggle to fill the gap with several long-time absentees.
Hibs defender Ryan McGivern is expected to be fit after training on Wednesday following a hamstring injury.
Form and league positions generally go out the window in local derbies and the home win at 2.1 on BETDAQ looks the safest option, especially considering the visitors dreadful record in this contest of late.
