PREVIEW
England weren’t brilliant on Friday, beating the world’s whipping boys San Marino just 5-0 at Wembley, but Three Lions fans are used to underwhelming performances. It took Wayne Rooney and company over half an hour to break down the part-timers, who had been thumped 13-0 by Germany and 11-0 by the Netherlands in recent years.

Roy Hodgson’s men will surely need to step up a gear if they are to return from Warsaw with three points against familiar foes Poland. This will be the sixth different time England will have faced the Poles in this round of the World Cup and they have won six times and lost just once, back in the disastrous 1974 campaign.

Poland have made a solid start to Group H, drawing with the tricky Montenegro 2-2 and then seeing off Macedonia 2-0. They have talented players, namely Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski, but are likely to be without influential captain Jakub Blaszczykowski and Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Overall, in 17 encounters, Poland have only once beaten England and, with the superior talent at Hodgson’s disposal, England really should cement their place at the top of the table with an away win. The 1.98 on BETDAQ is a very fair price and worth snapping up before it gets clipped in further.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back England at around 1.98 on BETDAQ: 4 points

Monday: +3.48 points

OCTOBER RETURN TO DATE: +19.50 points
