PREVIEW
Arsene Wenger will be hoping his Arsenal team can close out tonight’s League Cup quarter-final with Bradford before it goes to spot-kicks. The hosts have won their last seven penalties shoot-outs in all competitions, including three this season alone.
Having already knocked out higher rated rivals in the shape of Wigan, Watford and Notts County – all away from Valley Parade – League Two Bradford will fancy their chances of another upset tonight.
This season’s League Cup will forever be associated with Arsenal’s remarkable 7-5 win over Reading in the last round that saw the Gunners come back from 4-0 down to complete an amazing turnaround in extra-time.
Any repeat of the shambolic defending in that game is likely to see another goalfest but Bradford have conceded just three goals in their four League Cup games so far and will surely look to defend deep and hit on the counter-attack.
Arsenal only ever took one point at tonight’s ground in the Premier League between 1999-2000 and haven’t won at Valley Parade for 90 years.
