PREVIEW

Liverpool narrowly got the better of Manchester City in the semi-final first leg with a 1-0 win. Steven Gerrard’s first half goal from the penalty spot proved the difference a fortnight ago as the clubs prepare for a third meeting already in January.

Kenny Dalglish was furious with his side after their poor performance at the Reebok and he accused his players of having half an eye on tonight’s contest.

The Reds were comfortably beaten by Bolton and will need to raise their game significantly if they’re to complete the job on the league leaders. Liverpool’s form at home has been patchy over the past few weeks as they keep dropping points against some of the lesser clubs in the league. With that said, Liverpool have yet to be beaten at Anfield in the league this campaign.

Roberto Mancini’s side needed a 94th minute penalty from Mario Balotelli to seal a late win over Tottenham to maintain their 100% record at the Etihad Stadium. The manager will be delighted to welcome back Vincent Kompany following his four game suspension and he’ll likely slot straight in at centre-back.

City last won at Anfield in 2003 and even with Kompany back in the side an away win looks out of reach. My advice would be to back the draw on BETDAQ at around 3.55

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back the draw at around 3.55: 4 points

Tuesday’s Return: +4.32 points
