MORNING BRIEF: Here we pick out a couple of horses running later today who you should keep your eye on.

🏇 Bashosh

Bashosh steps into handicap company for the first time (4.20 Redcar, today). Seriously impressive on his debut he then had to work hard to defy his penalty next time at Doncaster. In truth he got caught a little out of his ground and he needed all of the one mile trip to get himself out of trouble and nail the runner-up near the line. The third and fourth horses have both run well since with the third-placed horse Anmaat winning really well off a mark of 86 at Bath yesterday. The fact that Bashosh comes here off a mark of 91 suggests that connections will feel it is a mark that he can exploit. However this is a trappy three-horse affair and his two opponents are both progressive types in their own right. Bashosh also has to give plenty of weight away to both and he will potentially have to be listed class to take this. The step up in trip to 10 furlongs should help and it will be a fascinating race and one to take note of with the future in mind.

🏇 Rizg

Rizg makes his debut today in a warm looking novice event at Yarmouth 2.40. A half-brother to the very useful Flagship Glory (raced in the UK as Establish), he is Group 2 entered in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury in September and he was given a favourable mention by his trainer in a stable tour feature in April. He faces a number of well-bred and well-entered rivals here and sitting at the top of the weights is the penalised Dig Two who has already achieved a rating of 96 based on a couple of wins and a strong Royal Ascot second this season. As always in races of this nature the market will prove the best guide to his chances and wherever he does finish, he could well be worth tracking in the weeks and months ahead.
