PREVIEW
An interesting encounter not least of which to see how Cardiff will respond to all the drama that has taken place off the pitch.

Cardiff’s owner, Malaysian businessman Vincent Tan, walked out of Thursday’s 3-0 home defeat by Southampton and told the chairman of his decision to dismiss Mackay on Friday morning.

He has promised the new manager plenty of spending power which oddly was one of the prime reasons for Malky Mackay’s departure.

If this is to be the dawn of a new era at Cardiff then Sunderland at home is not a bad starting point.

Sunderland have scored one goal in their last seven away fixtures and are rooted to the bottom of the league. Cardiff are getting perilously close to getting sucked into the relegation zone.

Under normal circumstances we’d fancy Cardiff for this – but in the circumstances a draw looks the call.
