A little bit of a lull in the world of football after the start of the new season and the transfer deadline drama this week.
It’s Johnstones Paint Trophy action tonight at Ashton Gate with the derby match between Bristol City and Bristol Rovers in the first round of the Southern half of the competition.
The two sides haven’t met competitively since February 2007 and a good crowd is guaranteed even with the match also covered live on Sky Sports 2.
Rovers have made the better start to the new season in League 2 – but with home advantage tonight it should be at the mercy of League 1 City.
