Hopefully the good run of naps that ended 2015 can continue into January – we’ve got the Christmas expenses to think about after all !
I bid to strike early on Saturday with the Dermot Weld trained Dont Tell No One in the opening Happy New Year Maiden Hurdle at 12.15pm.
He has been off the course for 883 days but Dermot Weld is a past master at getting horses fit again after a lay-off and I am not going to use his absence for a reason to ignore his chance.
He was a bumper winner at Galway in 2013 when beating Giantofaman who has gone on to win a Grade 2 over hurdles. The third in the Galway race, Shesafoxylady, has also won a Listed bumper so the form looks well above average.
Strength in the BETDAQ market would be an added positive but I’m napping Dont Tell No One to hopefully start 2016 in the best possible way.
