DUNDALK ON FRIDAY: SHAMROCK heads to Dundalk on Friday for their evening card which gets underway 6.05.
Poor day for me at Gowran Park yesterday with Monksland, my nap, pipped on the post after a lengthy photograph but he lost little in defeat after a thrilling renewal of the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle.
Later Djakadam stormed home in the Thyestes Handicap Chase so the place lay was well and truly sunk.
Hopefully, some better luck on the flat tonight at Dundalk.
The maiden at 7.35 looks pretty modest and should present a good opportunity for the filly Saga Diamond who ran a good race last time out here over the longer 10 furlong trip.
She led that day and only over-hauled inside the final furlong so could prove hard to peg back over the shorter trip tonight.
Balmont Mast ran his best race for some time when second over six furlongs here last time but is a bit of an unknown quantity over tonight’s trip.
A bigger danger might come from El Dem I who is rather exposed but was third of four over course and distance last time in what looked a better event.
