SHAMROCK AT DUNDALK: SHAMROCK heads to Dundalk on Friday evening where all seven races are sponsored by Ladbrokes and the floodlit racing gets underway at 6.05pm.
The opening maiden on the Dundalk card tonight, the Ladbrokes Maiden, is comprised mainly of exposed horses but Cutting Corners is very much the exception to the rule.
The filly trained by Michael Mulvany has had just the two starts, both over the six furlong trip here. Her most recent six length second to Have A Great Day looked only modest form at the time but the winner followed up in a handicap last week.
Cutting Corners has stayed on to good effect in both her starts, so the step up to seven furlongs should be seen as a positive and at 5.3 at the time of writing on BETDAQ looks over-priced.
Mystical Past is a maiden after 11 starts and came closest to losing that tag when a half length second over a mile here last time. First time blinkers were on then, which seemed to bring about an improvement, and they are back on tonight. She looks the biggest danger.
