SHAMROCK’S OFF TO DOWN ROYAL: And the best bet on their card looks to come in the opener at 4.10. David Wachman has two runners in the race and they dominate the BETDAQ market. Wachman also has a big decision to make.

It’s a big day for David Wachman and the route his Galileo Rock will take this weekend.

He has warned he will switch his dual Derby-placed colt to the GAIN Irish St Leger at the Curragh on Sunday should he deem the ground at the South Yorkshire course to be unsuitable.

“Galileo Rock will be declared for the GAIN Irish St Leger and a decision on which race to go for will be delayed until this evening.” said the County Tipperary handler.

“I want very much to run Galileo Rock in the Ladbrokes St Leger because of its prestige, prize-money and the fact it is confined to three-year-olds.”

The going at the track is currently good to soft, but limited further rain is forecast to arrive overnight before racing today.

Wachman has smaller fish to fry in the opener at Down Royal where he sets punters a poser by saddling two.

Danehill Brook was clearly highly thought of as he made his debut in the Group 3 Go And Go Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh but failed to beat a single runner home in ninth.

Stable companion Amygdala has placed form in more modest fare at Naas and Tipperary and has to be the percentage call here given we know so little about Danehill Brook.

NAP: Amygdala (4.10 Down Royal)
