WINNING PLACE NAP: SHAMROCK landed a winning BETDAQ place NAP yesterday with the well backed Returntovendor (2nd 4/1) at Thurles.
Good news and bad news yesterday.
The good news was that the place NAP was landed when Returntovendor finished second at 4/1 but the price was a lot shorter that I expected. He was trading at around 3 on BETDAQ for the place when selected but the price tumbled. Still a nice winner.
Irish racing from Limerick and Dundalk on Friday.
Almoner looks a good thing in the six furlong maiden at Dundalk at 8pm.
She has finished fourth and second in her two career starts – both of which came here at Dundalk. She was only beaten half a length by Magic Bear last time out and over the same trip, in a seemingly weaker race, can go one better.
The third from that race Sufoof has run well subsequently and the form looks solid enough.
Even the masterful Dermot Weld hasn’t managed to coax a win out of Waitaki in eight starts but she looks interesting on her all-weather debut and rates the danger.
