DUNDALK’S FINAL FLING: Dundalk have the stage to themselves tonight for the final racing before the Festive break. SHAMROCK’S best bet of the night runs in the 6.00.

One final bet before the Christmas break and first things first – a very Happy Christmas to all readers.

Hopefully, we can get some winnings in the Christmas stocking ahead of a busy Festive programme on Monday.

The maiden at 6pm looks to rest between the experienced Thomas O’Malley and Sir Danilo who is preferred.

Sir Danilo was a revelation when tried on the all-weather for the first time and was only beaten a neck at 66/1. No surprises to see him go off at that price after showing hardly anything in two starts on the turf.

He drops back a furlong in trip and can prove that effort was no fluke.

Thomas O’Malley is the clear danger. He hasn’t been beaten far in his last two starts – both over course and distance but has been tried in cheekpieces and blinkers and Sir Danilo (who is officially rated 5lb superior) may have the more scope for improvement.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Sir Danilo (6.00 Dundalk)
