I’m taking on an odds-on favourite tonight at Dundalk – odds-on, that is, at the time of writing !! As we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks the naps have ended up being really well backed.
I’m anxious to hit 80% so it would be easy to go for the odds-on Prince Connoisseur in the opener at Dundalk but I can’t really go for a debutant over the experienced Chiclet who sets a very fair standard for the debutants to shoot at – she has an official rating of 77.
Just as important, she has good course form – and was only beaten a short head here last time. She was tried at quite a high relative level on the turf and if the same front running tactics are deployed tonight, as last time, she could prove very hard to peg back. The current BETDAQ price of 2.6 looks very generous.
