COFFEE TIME AT KILBEGGAN: SHAMROCK NAPS in the opener at Kilbeggan tonight.

Coffee Cantata looks the answer to the opening Tom McCormack Memorial Cup Mares Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan tonight.

Currently 4.8 on BETDAQ, that looks a real tempter. The Paul Fahey trained runner has run well in two bumpers and has scope to progress further. Her jumping ability has to be taken on trust but this doesn’t look a strong contest as often is the case in these mares races.

An obvious danger looks to be the favourite Tri Na Ceile. The Jessie Harrington runner ran well at Limerick last time when third to Crystal Pearl. That was on soft ground and I am concerned that her better form has come when there has been give in the ground and she is also not the best jumper.

A bigger danger may come from Tigroney who shaped well on her jumping debut when fourth at Gowran Park.
