Two Listed races to look forward to at Tipperary this evening:
6:05 Kilfrush Stud Abergwaun Stakes (Listed) (3yo+, Class 1, 5f, 9 runners)
A really competitive renewal with no stand out contender. This race usually goes to one of the better fancied runners in the market and last year’s winner Russsian Soul is expected to go close again. He got home by a neck 12 months ago to hold the fast finish of Timeless Call. Russian Soul comes into the race in good form this year having failed by only a short head to beat Aidan O’Brien’s Darwin in the Listed Belgrave Stakes at Fairyhouse last time out.
7:05 Coolmore Canford Cliffs Stakes (Listed) (2yo, Class 1, 7f 100y, 7 runners)
All eyes will be on Aidan O’Brien’s East India here who stayed on well to win on debut at the Curragh. He is a A 650,000gns yearling who is entered up in top races and looks the pick here and certainly better than stable companion Cocoon.
