GERAGHTY RETURN: Barry Geraghty is hopeful of making a return to the saddle on Saturday week having been out of action since breaking his arm in July.

Third place from the NAP yesterday, Wayside Flower.

There’s a pause in play today with no Irish meetings scheduled.

Racing resumes at Ballinrobe tomorrow with an eight race jumps card on expected soft ground.

Good news from Barry Geraghty that his return to the saddle is imminent. Geraghty broke his right arm in a fall in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen in July

Geraghty told At The Races: “I’ve been riding out a little on and off for the last 10 days or so. It’s coming on well.

“I’ve had a lot of physio and I’m aiming to be back the weekend after next.

“It was a bad enough break, I got a plate and some screws in. I suppose that made it stable quickly and I had good use of it early.

“There’s a nice card in Gowran on October 1 and Tipperary on the 2nd. It might take another week or two, but that’s my target.

“I suppose with the exception of Galway and Listowel, it probably wasn’t the worst time of the year to be off.

“Hopefully we can get a clear run at the winter now.”
