7/2 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK hit form on Sunday with HOME OF THE BRAVE (NAP) WON 7/2 in the Friarstown Stud Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh. SHAMROCK is now 3 WINNING NAPS FROM HIS LAST 6.

Home Of The Brave continued the fine run of trainer Hugo Palmer when making all to win the Friarstown Stud Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh. This came just 24 hours after Covert Love had given the Newmarket based trainer his first Classic success by winning the Irish Oaks.

Home Of The Brave won by three and a half lengths and after the race Palmer said: “I thought he’d win but I didn’t quite think he’d win like that. The Hungerford Stakes (on August 15) would look the obvious next target. There is the Prix Maurice de Gheest but that might be his Group One for next year. We thought after the Guineas that he was a sprinter, but that might just have come a bit quick after the Free Handicap.”

Ballinrobe race on the flat this evening on testing ground – currently soft to heavy.

Top weight Lean And Keen is a real soft ground specialist and could take all the beating in the 7.30. He was a winner on soft ground at Leopardstown in May and at Cork last year made all the running to win on soft ground.

The Jessie Harrington trained current BETDAQ favourite Marshall Jennings won with cut in the ground at Epsom when trained by Richard Hannon and is an obvious danger.
