NOEL MEADE NAAS NAP: Big weekend of Irish racing gets underway at Naas this afternoon and SHAMROCK’s nap runs in the 2.30.
Fingers crossed all is looking good on the weather front for both Naas this afternoon and the Hennessy card at Leopardstown on Sunday when there are four Grade 1’s on the card.
Best bet on the Naas card this afternoon looks to be the Noel Meade trained Aengus in the maiden hurdle at 2.30pm.
The five-year-old was a bumper winner last season at Fairyhouse and made a perfectly acceptable hurdling debut at Leopardstown in December when third to the odds on Alvision Ville. He made a couple of mistakes that day and will hopefully be better for the experience today.
The longer trip should also suit this afternoon. Main danger is First To Boogie who looked good when winning a Bellewstown bumper.
