NAP AND DOUBLE UP: Shamrock landed his nap, Sonoran Sands (WON 5-6), and his next best, Dirar (WON 4-7), yesterday and, in fact, all his selections were in the first three.

Bingo! Here’s Johnny. After a superb ride in the Irish Lincolnshire yesterday, Johnny Murtagh flies to Lingfield for one mount in England this afternoon.

The race title confirms the contempt in which bookmakers hold punters but I fully expect Valbchek’s number to come up in the 3.45 maiden on his way to the big Tattersalls Millions race series.

Meanwhile, there was not much to cheer Ballydoyle fans from low-key remarks after the gallops at the Curragh yesterday; that’s apart from the way Aidan O’Brien was missing strike with three placed without winning at the races.

Though ‘not a definite’, Camelot retains his place at the head of the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas market this morning but Power, though 10-1 with some bookmakers, was out to 15.5 on Betdaq.

Twirl still looked inexperienced when Chrysanthemum got first run on her yesterday and that may be why the Ballydoyle filly carried her head high enough for me.

She remains 16-1 with one of the so-called Big Five bookies but is 27.0 on Betdaq, with the stable’s Maybe remaining favourite.

Maybe finished in front of the fillies’ group in yesterday’s gallop, and Aidan seemed happy enough with the Chesham and Moyglare winner.

NEXT BEST: Countess Comet (3.30 Towcester)
DAQ DOUBLE: Countess Comet (3.30 Towcester) and Valbchek (3.45 Lingfield)
