DOWN ROYAL: The star of the show is not performing. Trainer Henry de Bromhead tweeted this morning: “Sizing Europe a NR due to change in ground.”

With Sizing Europe out of the feature JNwine.com Champion Chase (Grade 1) at Down Royal this afternoon the race has a more open look to it from a betting perspective.

In the week that Kauto Star was retired, it would be fitting to see Paul Nicholls win this with Kauto Stone to emulate his great stable star who won it himself in 2010. However, he ended last season on a down note, falling at the first in the Champion Chase and then finishing last of the seven completers in the Melling Chase at Aintree.

Fresh, might be the time to catch this horse right but he has some serious rivals here including last year’s winner Quito De La Roque who was third to the ill-fated Synchronised in the Lexus Chase last December. We haven’t seen him since but he has won after a long absense before and I take him to follow-up last year’s success.

Art Of Logistics looks the nap on the card in the opener. He shaped with promise on two starts in bumpers which included an easy win at Roscommon and this looks an easy enough introduction over timber.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Art Of Logistics (12.45 Down Royal)
NEXT BEST: Quito De La Roque (2.25 Down Royal)
