13/8 WINNING NAP: Seefood won well at Fairyhouse on Wednesday to give SHAMROCK a 13/8 winning nap – his only bet of the day.
Well that pretty much went to plan, Sizing Gold ran well yesterday on his hurdling debut and, as I forecast yesterday, may well still be the best horse longer term but he couldn’t cope with the in-form Seefood.
We head to Thurles today and the big race on the card is the John Meagher Memorial Chase (Listed) at 1.25. Warm favourite here is Roi Du Mee who was impressive when making all to win a Grade 3 chase at Punchestown last time out. He is sure to prove hard to beat again today and is likely to make the running again.
Bostons Angel would be a danger if back to his best. He enjoyed a stellar season in 2010/11, but his current form seems to be tailing off at the moment and back over fences today after a spell hurdling can hardly be considered a confident proposition.
Colgrave Sound showed promise on his racecourse debut at Gowran Park and might prove hard to beat in the closing bumper.
