HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE SARABAD? An expensive horse to follow but Shamrock believes there’s a case for pressing the back button in the opener at Fairyhouse.

The Willie Mullins trained Sarabad has become a BETDAQ layers dream project. He has tasted defeat in all four Irish starts at odds of 9/5, 2/1, 2/1 and most costly of all last time out when second to Courageous Cry at Limerick at odds of 8/13.

This is a classic case of the BETDAQ price determining the punting action. At odds on, I wouldn’t be interested but the layers are keen to go to the well once again with Sarabad and the current odds of 2.20 look too generous to avoid.

He’s certainly a modest performer, certainly by the high standards of the yard, but this is a weak contest and the second favourite, Akatara, has had 29 starts over hurdles without success !!

Mister Hotelier was fourth at Punchestown but don’t let that you mislead you as he was beaten 55 lengths.

It’s an average contest for sure and I expect it to be another for the Mullins / Walsh team at unexpectedly generous odds.
