Because it was his jumping that let him down at Thurles when he came to grief on his chasing debut. He had the race at the mercy at that point – as you might have expected as he went off the 1/8 favourite. Ouch.
Willie Mullins’ charge was previously unbeaten over hurdles and is second favourite with Ladbrokes for the Arkle in March behind stable companion Vautour despite his inauspicious start to chasing.
As for today, surely only the needy and greedy can get involved at that price. Certainly not for me.
I want to be against the Willie Mullins trained Uradel at around evens in the maiden hurdle at 1.05. He was bitterly disappointing on debut and Thunder Zone is preferred here.
