The Henry de Bromhead trained Domesday Book looks the answer to the Henry Shefflin & Aidan O’Brien Rated Novice Hurdle at Gowran Park (4.05pm) this afternoon.
The five-year-old was quite impressive when winning a big field maiden hurdle at Navan but then failed to cope with the step up in class when last of six behind Douvan in the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at Punchestown. However, he wasn’t beat that far and given the winners subsequent triumph at Cheltenham the form looks rock solid.
Blair Perrone from Tony Martin’s yard is best in on official ratings but this one was tailed off last time – all be it in the Grade 1 won by Nichols Canyon at Leopardstown last month.
A bigger danger may come from Scooping who made all to win on debut at Down Royal at 50/1.
