NAVY TO SAIL HOME: Aidan O’Brien should land the Group race at Leopardstown this afternoon with Royal Navy Ship who has by-passed the Racing Post Trophy in favour of the Killavullan Stakes at 3.10.
Royal Navy Ship earlier in the week was disputing favouritism for the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster but has stayed at home for the Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown this afternoon instead.
The race is down to just four runners now and Royal Navy Ship should be able to build on his impressive winning debut at the Curragh where he beat his better fancied stable companion Jacobean by a length and a half. He cost $500,000 as a yearling and faces rivals who already look to have had their limitations exposed.
Jacobean himself runs of course in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster and is preferred in the BETDAQ market to O’Brien’s other runner Aloft.
Elm Park will be a tough nut to crack but Aidan O’Brien’s record is so strong in the race that I will be napping Jaocbean today.
