SATURDAY NIGHT AT TRAMORE: SHAMROCK naps in the opener at Tramore on Saturday evening. A 2m 5f maiden hurdle.

18 runners go to post for the opening maiden on the Tramore card but it’s pretty easy to whittle the field down.

Mutiska only won once on the flat (from 25 starts) but has already shown enough over hurdles to suggest she is capable of winning a race like this.

She finished second to Obispo at Wexford last time out over 2m and the step-up in trip today looks certain to suit.

The booking of jockey Paul Townhead is an obvious positive.

Amongst the dangers would be Faustina Pius but her maiden tag has been around her neck for 13 starts now and she has disappointed on several occasions when short in the market.

We go from one extreme to the other field size wise in the 5.05 when just four runners go to post. The race looks to be at the mercy of the Willie Mullins trained Shamar.
