3:10 Friarstown Stud Minstrel Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+, Class 1, 7f, 10 runners)
Ansgar made all to win this last year but hasn’t shown much sparkle in his two races this season.
International jetsetter Gordon Lord Byron won a Listed race in good style here over six furlongs last time out which I still believe is his best trip.
The Hugo Palmer stable are on cloud nine after their Irish Oaks success yesterday with Covert Love. The stables last three runners have all won and I think they can go close here with Home Of The Brave who has run with great credit in Group 1’s at Newmarket and Royal Ascot and will find things easier here. He made all to win the European Free Handicap at Newmarket over this seven furlong trip.
3:45 Kilboy Estate Stakes (Fillies’ Group 2) (3yo+, Class 1, 1m 1f, 9 runners)
Sir Michael Stoute has won the last two runnings of this but has no representative this year. Brooch might be worth another chance. She was unbeaten before finishing 7th of 9 in the Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes – a Group 1 run here over the slightly longer 1m 2f trip. She was only beaten four lengths and should be suited by the drop back in trip.
